On the 4th of September, the Daily Record reported that the Red Lion Pub and BUF Bar in Prestwick had gone back into shutdown due to staff members catching coronavirus.
On the 31st of August, 2020, the Daily Record reported that there had been a small cluster of positive cases linked to indoor house parties which took place the previous weekend, and an increase in Ayrshire cases over the last 10 days that included two members of staff at Prestwick's Sainsbury's supermarket, and cases linked to Dobbies Garden Centre and Granny Smiths Nursery in Troon.
